A story that pulls heart strings 2024.

Reece Fleming was 4 years old when they discovered he had leukemia. he always tried to have a normal life even though he was sick.

Last May his parents were informed that the child, who was now 8, had only a couple weeks left to live.

"When we found out we did everything we could for him." said his parents. What Reece wanted more than anything was Elleanor Purgslove. She was his schoolmate and special friend. They were very close but everything went wrong when he got sick. He wanted to get her back.

with his parent’s help, they organized a pirate costume party. After that, they continued to see each other. In one of these visits, and armed with a toy laser gun, Reece asked for her hand in marriage. She said yes. Their parents said it was OK, too, and so they organized the celebration.

As the newspaper the Telegraph put it, there were rings and a certificate and a limo and a dinner. Of course, it wasn’t legal; just symbolic. On the 5th, Reece died in his house with his parents at his side. His mother recalled that he said "Now I can go." after he had completed his wish.
